Inspired by positive images of the black community, I developed the idea to design black greeting cards. The idea came from not seeing a variety of diverse contemporary designs in the ethnic and multicultural cards already available on the market and i wanted my cards to be relatable.

growing up I would see my parents using fresh seasonings in their food and drinks. everything they cooked was seasoned, from jerk chicken to baked beans. this is just how it was in our kitchen growing up in a black-British, Caribbean household, aroma so sweet, even the neighbours could smell there were black people cooking. I wanted to create cards so fresh, so unique and so black that they remind people of the sweet taste of cinnamon in cornmeal porridge!
